A while back I saw a record table in a shop and figured I would try make my own. It was really easy and cheap – I’m really pleased with how they turned out! People always ask where I have bought them from but really they are just an easy DIY 🙂 Each table worked out to be about $12 each.
Materials:
- Second hand records from an op shop (usually about $1 each)
- Silver cake stands/platforms from bargain city ($3)
- Plant holders from kmart ($5-$6 depending on the size)
- Adhesive glue from bunnings (I tried two different types Shelleys KwikGrip and I can’t remember the other ahah but anything that’s stronger than regular craft glue should be good)
Wipe over the record and cake platform to prep them for gluing. Glue the record to the cake stand.
Step two
Next glue them to the outside of the plant stand and hold down with books or weights for 24 hours.
There is really not much else to it. Super quick and easy, they are a statement piece and brighten up any room. I always get compliments on them and people ask where did you get them from? Be sure to give them a go and let me know what you think 🙂
