Having a chronic illness can feel like I am fighting a battle everyday but one thing I find extremely helpful is reading little words of inspiration. Through all the challenges I face in life I find inspirational quotes can be incredible words of encouragement in whatever I am facing.
I did a poll on my Instagram story (@findyourownhope) asking how many of you guys find words of inspiration and encouragement helpful… and 85% of you said YES – you found it helpful too!
I am one of those people who loves new ways to think about things and I’ve discovered these little words of encouragement really help inspire and give me perspective.
I think little reminders like wall hangings, posters or even post-it notes with messages of encouragement really help to centre me and bring me back to the present moment. I have a bunch of self-made quotes and notes pinned up around my house, as well as a little calendar with daily reminders and quotes.
But my newest edition to my collection is this canvas from Photowall of one of my favourite quotes by Martin Luther King Jnr. This quote really spoke to me when I was bed bound and struggling through the worst days of my illness a few years back. Seeing this canvas everyday has really engrained this incredible quote in my mind but it has also reminded me of how far I have come in my journey and that really gives me hope. It also inspires me to spread love and light into the world, and this reminder always warms my heart.
If you would like to order from Photowall you can use the code: findyourownhope25 to get 25% off! The code is valid until 20th of June 2020. They sell wall murals, wall paper, canvas prints and posters!
I also asked on Instagram what were some of your favourite quotes or words of encouragement. Here is what some of you said:
“Courage conquers all things.”
“Where focus goes, energy flows.”
“If at first you succeed, try something harder.”
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” – Rainer Maria Rilke
“Find joy in the little things!”
“You are brave and brilliant and oh so resilient.”
“Do the best you can with what you have where you are.”
Thanks so much for reading and feel free to share your favourite words of inspiration below, I would love to read them!! Also you can get 25% off your Photowall order with the code: findyourownhope25 (valid until 20th of June 2020). If you use the code message me on Instagram – I’d love to see what you order!

Hope that you are having a good weekend 🙂 Since some of the restrictions have been relaxed in Brisbane we were able to enjoy a picnic yesterday! With social distancing of course, it was so nice to enjoy some time in the park.
